Willow Place Donation Drive & Creekside Terrace Craft Sale
Between November and December, Broadstreet's Winnipeg communities collected donations for Willow Place, the women and children's shelter. Everyone really came together - staff, residents and friends were dropping off donations throughout the holidays.
In addition to the donation drive, funds were raised through the annual Craft Sale at Creekside Terrace. Each vendor paid a $10 fee for their table, which raised over $200 for the shelter.
Wrap the Gifts @ Crestview, Campbell River
Crestview staff organized an afternoon of gift wrapping on December 14th at Crestview at Seymour Village, requesting donations for the Campbell River Food Bank in return for the supplies. Even if residents didn't bring gifts to wrap, there was hot chocolate to enjoy with the neighbours. The event raised another 106.6lbs of food for the local food bank, adding to the other fundraising initiatives that took place at Home Office, in Campbell River, BC.
Pet Drive in Regina
Henderson Meadows, Victoria Views and Westerra Fields organized a Pet Drive for Prairie Sky Dog Rescue, a 100% volunteer-based, non-profit organization in southern Saskatchewan. There were boxes of dog beds, leashes, toys and dog food which the animal shelter graciously accepted over the holidays.
Balcony Contest
After all the charitable giving that was experienced in the community this season, Broadstreet decided to give back to residents. We encouraged residents to light up their balconies for our annual Balcony Contest, giving away a $50 Visa gift card at each site.
