Just behind our new building at Cedar Ridge Apartments in Campbell River, BC is a daycare filled with some very curious young neighbours. Over the past few months, the children have made a habit of heading outside to watch the progress on site, following along as crews and equipment bring the project to life. What may feel like a routine workday for the team has become a daily highlight for a group of enthusiastic spectators.
Recently, the team decided to return the favour.
To thank the children for being such supportive neighbours, the team assembled goodie bags for each child, complete with teddy bears, colouring sheets, crayons, and a snack. Our Safety Officer and Site Foreman delivered the bags in person, making sure every child received a small token of appreciation from the team they have been cheering on from afar.
The proximity of the daycare also serves as an important reminder of the responsibility that comes with building in an active community. During every site orientation, our Safety Officer reinforces the presence of children nearby and the importance of following safety procedures, staying aware of surroundings, and maintaining a secure and respectful work environment. While being mindful of language is one part of that awareness, the primary focus remains clear: safety first, always.
This thoughtful gesture reflects more than a kind moment. It highlights the professionalism, awareness, and community spirit demonstrated daily by everyone working at Cedar Ridge. Thank you to the entire team for helping turn a construction site into something memorable for a group of very excited kids.
At Cedar Ridge, we are not just building homes, we are building community. It is moments like this that remind us that how we build matters just as much as what we build.
