Job Title: Instructional Designer - 6 month contract
Location: CampbellRiver, British Columbia

Job Description

You know how to create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer, and you love doing it. Your creative mind can visualize instructional graphics and the finished product of your course designs so that you know exact how it will look to engage your learners before you begin. You know how to develop exercises and activities that enhance the learning process and keep participants wanting more.

The Instructional Designer works within the HR team to create job aids, e-learning materials and presentations to support the learning and development needs of the organization. This role is essential to ensure we effectively communicate our brand to new employees and that learning material continue to engage employee throughout their career with us. 


  • Create and produce training materials for in-house training using Articulate Storyline and MS Office Suite
  • Create quick job-aids for just-in-time training
  • Update content on the learning management system
  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface and the finished product
  • Create supporting training material and media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games
  • etc.)
  • Works with subject matter experts to produce learning content for a variety of audiences
  • Support LMS-related initiatives from inception to production


  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in marketing, communication, multimedia design, other related field, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to use design principles to create eLearning courses that are visual appealing and engaging
  • Ability to use content from various sources to create training materials that meet the learning objectives of different audiences
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles, training methods and formats an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience with eLearning authoring software an asset
  • Experience with multiple learning delivery methods an asset
